Issues Faced by People Who Are Homeless in Accessing Health and Social Care Services

Access to health and social care services for people who are homeless is problematic due to a lack of information about available services and issues with how these services are coordinated to best meet particular individual needs.

This report shows that in particular, people without a home of their own face many barriers when accessing Northern Ireland health and social care services. Consequently, they are not receiving the care and support they need.

According to this study, there is need for more education on issues of homelessness, better and more coordination between organizations and health and social care services and easier access to services in the community.
